This scripted half-hour comedy, ‘Impress Me,’ stars Jim Meskimen (‘Parks and Rec’) and Ross Marquand (‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Mad Men’) as celebrity impressionists who create a 12-Step Program in order to stop doing impressions and transition into being serious dramatic actors. Created by writer/director Ben Shelton, 13 episodes first aired on SoulPancake’s YouTube channel before being licensed for domestic broadcast to Pop TV (airing after Eugene Levy’s ‘Schitt’s Creek’) and internationally to HatTrick.
Actual celebrity cameos include Angela Kinsey (‘The Office’), Erika Christensen (‘Parenthood’), Matt Jones (‘Breaking Bad’), Josh Groban and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.
In one memorable episode ‘Jingle Bells’ gets an epic remix by Al Pacino, John C. Reilly, Michael Caine, Brad Pitt, and Kevin Spacey. ‘Impress Me’ is about more than two talented celebrity impressionists. It is about how hard (and hilarious) it can be to follow your heart, especially when the odds are stacked against you.
