It was my passion, hands down. I thought I was going to follow my brother's footsteps and become a professional musician, when really my purpose was right before my eyes all along. Your passion is what you think about and invest your time in.  For me, my purpose is to be a youth pastor because my passion is for God and kids. If I get too worked up or overly expressive, then people stop listening all together. The more calm, collected, and normal I appear in day to day life (especially at times when others would be pulling their hair out); the more interested people become in what I have to say. Even if it makes them angry or afraid, when you're capable of doing amazing things while appearing plain or conformist, people respect you. It is totally possible\/acceptable to appear conformist and still have incredible, non conformist ideas. Once you get famous, then you can let your freak out of the cage. Jobs are cultural, but not natural. (now aged 15-25...and since you're never really done - I'm still raising them..lol)   <br\/>Along the way I've also been a Daycare Provider, a Professional Artist, an adult returning to college, a Head Start Pre-School Volunteer, a Sign Language Interpreter and an Educational Aide for Special Education, specializing in Students who are D\/deaf or H\/H.  I have been blessed all the way thru, I LOVE what I do,and I love how all the other employment experiences bring themselves to what I do today.   When I leave my house in the morning, I want to know that what I do w\/ my day will make a positive impact on someone elses day\/week\/ month\/year\/LIFE. The question I did ask her was, \"What are doing when you find yourself  feeling the most happy, (you know, not counting sleeping or dancing or eating ice cream)...but what kind of challenge turns you on the most?<br\/><br\/>What makes you excited to wake up in the morning? What fascinates? What puts you into a state of flow or total focused absorption?  We didn't come up with specific fields of study or professions, but we just talked about her life experiences so far and how well she knows what doesn't excite her. She is really excellent at math and science but she thinks research might be to isolating...\"I like people,\" she said, \"they are interesting.\"   She thinks emergency room work (ER Doc) would be varied and broadly challenging. She's thinking of shadowing a few friends that are Doctors to see what their days are like. <br\/><br\/>\"Do what you love\" is a phrase I've often heard - but surviving is more about doing what must be done, if you happen to like whatever it is you end up doing, well you are very blessed, indeed!  It's a good question. There is no short answer or one blanket response.  There's lots of drudgery in the world. A lot of people hate their day jobs. But they have this habit of eating and needing shelter that they just can't seem to kick. That takes resources, like cash. To experience as many enjoyable, memorable and pleasurable experiences as possible. People's purposes of life differ greatly. A Christian's purpose could be (and probably should be) to glorify God and spread the gospel. A Buddhist's purpose would be to achieve Nirvana (I think?). I'm not religious, so my purpose is just to enjoy this unexplainable and sometimes uncontrollable roller coaster that is life. <br\/><br\/>The best way to enjoy your life (and so to fulfill MY life's purpose) is to follow a passion. You can't enjoy life if your doing something your not passionate about like following a career that you're not interested in. I don't know what my passion is yet. I go through phases in which I am very passionate and obsessed with something like music, web developing, programming or philosophy.
