I'm naturally a night-owl, but upon my recent push to return to school, I have found myself needing alter my nocturnal ways and wake up significantly earlier to maximise my productivity and study time.
What have you changed out of Necessity?

Yes. I think we all do. But sometimes, we need to remember what is necessity. I changed a lot of my ways because of someone I loved, and it affected my health in ways that only could be cured years later. It wasn't a necessity, but I was craving love, so I thought it was. Now that I'm older and wiser, I need to remind myself if there is a way I can meet halfway.

And, necessity, poverty, now, has changed the way I eat, my social activities, my treats to myself... I feel deprived and realize how privileged I was, although I never took it for granted, I was always grateful. But you adapt. The other choice is death.
I want to have more than one thought bubble, not just one.

I need to exercise or I will be fat. I need to chill as much as possible or I will wig out. I need to work or i will go broke I find if I keep my home heat roaring at 69 then this sh*t is a lot easier to handle.

My cynicism is probably the biggest thing. It was so bad I pretty much completely isolated myself and couldn't be comfortable with being wrong at all. For my own mental health and my relationships with my friends and family I've forced myself to understand that perfection is impossible. Embracing the chaos is more rewarding than getting angry at it.

lots! 1. First, I changed my inner spirited nature because I thought people were judging me. 2. Then I changed my single status and married way too early, because I felt i'd be left behind without a life. 3. Then I changed my married status because I thought I would like life better without the disagreeable spouce holding me back. 4. Then I changed my belief system from material to spiritual because the former was not bringing in peace. 5. Then I changed my parental status because I thought maybe the children would be happier with their dad, rather than struggling with me. 6. Then I changed my communicating habits with my family. 7. Then I changed my mind about careers. 8. Then I changed my single status to married, again. 9. Then I changed my finances. 10. Then I changed my single career lifestyle for another shot at coupleship, where I have saved my life with a partner. The end. I hope.

I definatly thought work had to be like corporate Snoopy. One day I just couldn't do it anymore. Now I am a teacher. I love it and my habits reflect my need for creativty and being helpful to people. Great question and picture! I will share this with my students!

Far too many to list, but I'll put down a few highlights....
Far too many to list, but I'll put down a few highlights....
- I've had to learn patience since having kids;
- I am still a night owl but am far more functional in the mornings than I ever had been;
- I've had to learn to let a lot of stuff go and focus on the big picture. You know, choose your battles and all that.
You have to adap to a changing life or you'll never be happy.

Awesome picture by the way. It prompts a different question for me too. I have changed a lot out of necessity, what scares me is that perceived necessity. Am I going to be like corporate Snoopy? Dreaming of a time where I was free as I walk to the job that I'm manacled to out of necessity? sh*t. That's terrifying.

My introversion. My school is very big on team building and making fun of anything out of the ordinary and so i've had to drag myself away from my peacefully private little dwelling to join the rest of my peers. Wouldn't want to appear like a loner now would I? :(

I had to make the same change as you recently. I've been out of school for a year and was only working part time so I had more time in my days. Now I work full time and go to school part time. I miss sleeping.

What haven't I changed out of necessity!?
What haven't I changed out of necessity!?
I tend to be a very easy-going person . . . not undergoing change just for the sake of changing.
It's almost always driven by necessity.
And by this process I'm learning that I'm a LOT more adaptable than I often give myself credit for.

I used to go to bed about 11:00 pm and wake up at 7:00 am. I'd get my butt out of bed at 7:30 am.
