What's Your Relationship Deal-Breaker?

I went on a few dates recently with a fun, interesting woman. Not that long ago, though, I probably wouldn't have considered her datable. She has a kid. She has an ex-husband. Their relationship isn't all cute scenarios and ironic laughs like exes in the sitcoms. In the past, I'd have been more interested in a telemarketer call. But people change. We get older. Less judgmental. We add our own baggage, the people in our dating demographics change and we often adapt with them.
But what doesn't change? What makes someone un-datable? What is, and always will be, your relationship deal-breaker? I'm 99 percent sure I could never date someone who smokes. It's gross. It stinks. And if it does work out, you have all sorts of health issues ahead. @NoMattJames

I'm about a month away from being sixteen and far from figuring out what I want in a serious relationship, and as I get older what I like in a person will change. But I don't think some of the things that crazy annoy me will ever change. What I really can't stand in a person is someone who takes advantage of people, things, anything. Selfishness is obviously a trait I encounter with a lot, because I am a teenager and teenagers are naturally selfish. But, over the top all about me type of personality is annoying and I will probably never outgrow how much I hate it.

As a former drug user, "cheater" and addict I feel as though some of these responses are unfair. I walked away from that life and I'll admit, it takes a special kind of person to give me a chance, had she not, I don't know where I would be. I walked away from that life and I feel as though I deserve someone, even if I did live like a scum bag. I'm sure someone will cling to their "on average" argument, but I think everyone deserves a chance. I know I won't cheat, I won't use drugs again and although my addiction will always be present in my life, I still need a reason to fight it. The only kind of person who is undatable in my eyes, is someone who refuses to forgive my past.

I'm married now, but when I was dating, I avoid guys who were rude or supercilious to waitresses and clerks...or who had hair-trigger tempers.

not chivalrous... it would be nice if the guy held my hand once in a while and offered me his jacket when im cold, opened the door for me =) im a traditional gal but at the same time, im no lower than he is at all

cheating. i know others have mentioned this, too. but my dad cheated on my mom, and i could never live with that in a marriage. happily, i am married to someone so honest that cheating just isn't in his DNA.

Aside from the obvious things, I could never date someone who was unmotivated or lacked direction in life. Been there. Done that. So over it.

2. faithfulness (I've had issues in the past, and I will never date and ex-cheater again)
3. lack of communication (talk about your problems. don't hide them from me)

to be honest, my deal breaker is her tolerance of my screw ups. I won't say I'm not perfect, because that's given, no one is. but i screw up.... a lot... and they're obvious screw ups, things that really should be common sense so I need someone who is willing to NOT look at me like I have a single digit I.Q. and actually help show me what I did wrong and what I should have done. of course, if I continually screw up, that's on me, and she has a right to yell and be angry that I asked her grandpa what Vietnam was like (like he ever wants to relive that again, true story, by the way, I actually did this). Or even my smoking habit, which I've continuously tried to quit, but one way or another, be it stress, peer pressure, or boredom, something brings me back to it. I need a girl that won't freak, flip out and scream at me, but one that'll just grab the cigarette out of my mouth and put it out
