Hi Im Meg
If I had to explain myself in six words, those words would be "heroic, caring, alert and flammable." Wait...that's only four words. Oh well, I guess I should have thought of that before I started writing. Too late now =(
Stuff that makes me awesome: I’m 39, lived my dream being Dirty Harriet, a 8 year old daughter, a husband, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a house, and an, ahem, a colorful history...don't judge me people.
I spend most of my time (before, between and after work) desigining, crafting/sewing/knitting, shooting pictures of my work, uploading items to my online shop and handling orders from my customers. Making things is great comfort to me especially when I'm stressed out from work.
I also love travelling around the world, watching England premier league, taking a walk, gardening, driving, swimming, skiing, yoga, playing the piano, cooking while drinking red wine, reading.
Enjoy family, travel and my work.
Just wrote my third book, "Escape the Improvement Trap." A story about why most organizations fail to change their competitive position when they implement improvement initiatives (e.g., lean, six sigma, TQM, etc.). It also emphasizes that most organizations fail to fully engage a passionate involvement of the people who work there....which is unfortunate because 'people' are the only meaningful differentiation an organization has.
I am a Magnet art artist from Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. Since 1996 I've signed and numbered over 34,400 unique pieces. I saw artist putting magnets on their art and thought why not put my art on the magnet itself. Magnetic Originals was born. 13 years later I have pieces in collections throughout the world. Nature and music inspire my styles and I try to create everyday. In the past year I have been creating large doodles of micro proportion. Using Rapidograph tech pen I can draw as tiny as possible. It is amazingly relaxing and cathartic.
Writer. Social Worker. I enjoy; road trips, pop culture, pop surrealism, etsy, new wave music, roller skating, experiencing new cultures, conversing with people I have nothing in common with and finding humor in everyday events. I like; book stores, vintage appliances, hearing how people fell in love, sixties decor, string lights, New York City, The Muppets and the ocean. I make everything an adventure and aspire to continually follow my bliss.
