Apologize for the delayed response, but it's terminology that simpy refers to (in a nutshell) pushing someone's buttons. I was just trying to get a feel from the audience on your perspective and I see that the individual words, in and of themselves, confused some. "calholli" got very close to what I was looking for, taking the meaning and then expanding on why someone would possibly do this. It can lead couples down a destructive path in their marriage and I've been doing some soul searching in regards to my marriage and have identified that I'm guilty of such marital sadism. If you explore the terminology a bit further, you'll also see references to sadism as it refers to sex in the marriage, I simply chose a different path for the topic. Thanks everyone.

I was going to say, never been married and always been sad... but I looked up sadism and found out the real discussion.. lol.. never heard that term used..... I was deeply in love with the same girl for 8 yrs., and experienced a small degree of this myself.. and I'd say that the roots of it sprout from self hatred, insecurity, doubt and mistrust..... emotional pain, suspicion, and Jealousy are some triggers in my opinion, and the act seems to give you a sense of Revenge for what ever pain you feel was inflicted upon you... "pleasure" is in the feeling that you got even, and they got what they deserved, when really, the problem is your own from the beginning.
