What will happen to God after we're gone?

I think it's generally accepted that the human race will at some point cease to exist, either through the destruction of the world by some means or some mass extinction. Now whether this happens in 2012 or a million years in the future, what will happen to God when there are no more people to worship and praise him?

srimayadeva, yes, thank you. I believe we are God. I do not understand why we separated ourselves...well, actually, ego probably had a hand in it. "God" is a man-made word...

God is in us and a part of us, but part of all things, not just the earth but all things. God will always exist. It is in this truth, knowing that God can always be that is the essence of existence.

Who said that God is here just for us?

Once there is no one to create them and train new followers, there won't be any gods.

Humanity will always exists. God has a plan that is in effect, he is a doer and creator of all things. Without him, there is no man. As for 2012, only God knows his hour of Judgement...

This question assumes that there is not other intelligent life in the Universe, which God may have revealed Himself too :)

Nothing. Because he doesn't exist. UH-DURRRRR.

(BTW - It's pretty late where I am, but I think a good name for a band would be "Sinning Armadillos")

Taking Krillinhazuki's initially stated assumptions for the sake of the argument, we shouldn't be so quick to assume we are God's pride and joy. S/he may be far more interested in bacteria or the armadillo, or some smart little rodent living under the ice caps on one of Jupiter's moons...

This is assuming God exists, right? And I'm also assuming that it's the standard, omniscient, personal yet unknowable, omnipotent, creator of the world God, cool? In that case nothing with happen to him. He's supposed to be around since before the dawn of time and forever present... He'll be around when we're gone then. Lots of universe to go around, maybe he'll craft a reality somewhere else. Granted, I think it's all ridiculous... but that's what would happen if it were true.
