The mayans, beleived that a new age would begin, a new time.. not that the world would be destroyed. I think if there is truth in the calender, I think we are seeing the change now, the world is going to sh*t, at some point we are going to have to face up to what we are doing.

It's not going to end until after 2100. Don't worry... we won't be here to see it.

I'm one of those guys who can honestly say I have NO clue, is it a weird coincidence that Mayans, the Chinese book of luck (supposedly), and Native American beliefs all point in the same direction? Why yes, yes it is. But does it make it true? Absolutely maybe. It could be a hoax or the biggest mass extinction in a very long time. Though I'm not sure its not going to stop me from being in a boat plane on that day...

There's really no point in trying to know the date. In fact, there's really no point in worrying about it at all. All we can do is try to make the world as best we can as it is NOW.

Sorry, I didn't see the line about watching the video first, and I just did. I don't think it has changed my mind, thinking now about all the recent quantum physics stuff, everything talked about in "What the Bleep Do We know", for example, the power of the individual human mind that we seem to be largely unaware of, but are becoming more aware of; that thought is measurable energy. Taking all of that into account, I would say that our collective minds would have a huge impact on the outcome just as they are now.

A long time ago I read a passage in a book that said "the end of the world" wouldn't be in the literal, physical sense, but rather the end of the way we think and live, some sort of global enlightment that would leave a definite "before" and "after" line, like B.C. and A.D. It's positive, so that's what I go with. Actually, I have been thinking about this lately in terms of the economic meltdown, wondering if some huge shift in money consciousness will come about as a result of it. That would be the end of the world as we know it, and wouldn't that be something! Or we might blow ourselves up.

Before watching the video; It will never end. We may cease to exist here but it will go on in some forth or another. It's not going to happen in 2012. After watching the video; Sounds exciting. I'm glad I'll be alive to see it.

As advanced as this civilization was for as ancient as it was, it was also filled with superstitions, and this is one of them. I do not believe in a Doomsday or Armegeddon. There will certainly be a point at which life on Earth is extinguished or dies out, but I suspect it will be with a fizzle rather than a bang.

Life will unlikely end...perhaps some major natural occurrence like the poles switching or the start of another ice age.

Bring it on!!! J/K The world really could end at any given moment. Just like our life there is really no true control we have over the grand scheme of things. Everything will end at some point, but I think the important thing is to remember that. And since it will end we should live for today and enjoy the moments infront of us.
