Fairness is a social construct, a way to think certain outcomes "ought to" prevail based on our value judgments, but in many instances there are few factors to those outcomes over which we have much control.

Natural disaster, random accident, cancer, poverty by birth, all suffering, really... the universe suffers no compunction to be social about anything.
Expectations of fairness in general are formula for unnecessary pain. However, in the human, social realm we can certainly aspire to fairness; to date, it's a work in progress.

I believe that nothing can ever truly be fair. There will always be terribly unfair things that happen to people, and people who are just born into unfair beginnings. The only thing that we can do is try to make sure that everyone on this planet has an equal shot of living a happy and fulfilling life by making sure that the basic human needs can be met for every person.

I think what changed my view about life being not fair is actually the movie Bridesmaids. Their is one seen in the film where Melissa McCarthy is slapping Kristen Wiig on the couch at her moms house. Life is not fair, and it is gonna slap you, beat you, and all around rip you to shreds. You must be the one to hit back, and take control of your life. Don't expect things to go well for you all the time, and when something does go wrong, do your best to fix it.

Nope, But I think, when I start obsessing over why it's not fair, I miss out on the fact, that I am lucky/blessed in so many other ways, and it distracts from my happiness!

The notion that life even /should be/ fair, is probably the #1 irrational belief driving anxiety. Regardless, I have chosen to be a helper of the helpless in my life. In small ways, it's like flipping the bird at a universe that while beautiful and astounding, just doesn't give a rat's a*s about our well-being. By caring for others we do the dirty work that the universe can't...or won't...or most likely is unaware of. When we help others, we momentarily baffle the entropy that is our certain demise and tip the cosmic scale slightly towards fairness. That folks, is power.

We as humans don't deserve anything. Yet we have so much. That's not fair.

When I learned how to think rationally and independently, and in this way gained control over my choices, life became more and more fair until I have reached the point where I can say with great confidence - life is exactly fair. It is exceedingly well-balanced.

As i wander though this world, realizing how people live in some sort of delusion, unaware of so much of who and what they are and how a human being functions in reality, I realize that because believes are the fabric of our individual realities, life is abundantly clear. If you don't like what your reality looks like, change your beliefs so that they will better serve you.
You are very powerful beings. If you choose to use your power against yourself, you are free to do so, but you own your consequences and no one is required to carry them for you. I certainly won't - nor will the growing number of enlightened who have lifted themselves out of the cultural programming and reclaimed their power.

No. I don't think it's fair. Too many people die; get heartbroken, suffer, and get diseases. It's worth it in the end though.

who can measure fairness? humans are flawed. fairness cannot coexist with selfishness, greed, and corruption. As humans, we poses all three of those traits.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Sometimes we seem to grave order & predictability, but ultimately we aren't in control of everything. We can strive for justice in our political systems, and also be fair in our actions to others.

Life is not supposed to be fair. Life is a competition, that's why it's called the Human Race.

Nope, at least until I get home and bite into that delicious Jr. Roast Beef my overlords have worked so hard to perfect, the question of fairness just gets thrown out the window at that moment...
