open-ness to the answer being another question and to the 'universe' showing you options, but back to the open-ness, if you aren't open then we might miss it!

I take it to the table. I ask my kids, siblings, very close friends and wait about a week of thinking the I take it to the table with my man and do what's right and best in the long run. Even ask questions about it on forums. such as.....

Fear not. As you travel an unfamiliar road, especially if you travel a less-chosen road, there will be many there to challenge you and try to make you afraid. This will be much easier because you are walking a road that is less traveled, and you will not have ready "packaged" answers for your new road. This, in itself will either cause fear or curiosity. If you always choose curiosity over fear, your life can be very amazing because you will have learned how powerful you are in your own right The life of fears that most live (by default) will not be yours. Good luck and happy trails.

It's imperative for me to know WHY I'm doing what I'm doing (or considering doing something different). When I know why, the what (deciding) gets really, really clear.

I get out of my head and heart and listen to a deeper space within me. Some would call it intuition, I don't know if that accurately describes it, but that space inside of me has never been wrong while both my heart and head can get pretty screwy.

Napoleon was right, but I have to add this caveat: Knowledge is power.
Not every decision has a clear, easy path. The more life-changing a decision is, the more uncertain your choices are likely to be. Learn what you can, then listen to your gut.

It helps to at least know whether you are innately more oriented to your intuition or your intellect. The best way to determine this is to look upon your past experiences to see whether your best decisions were lead by your heart/gut or your head.

For me personally, I know my intuition is my strongest leader, and so I follow it.
I find writing gives clarity to any conflicting internal voices. I record all of my thoughts and feelings about the possibilities before me, and then go back and read it a little later. It's much easier to recognize and compartmentalize the my sources of encouragement and discouragement when I see them in writing.
Sometimes I seek reassurance from the perspectives of respected others. Receiving validation from an intellectual person is especially valuable, because it gives me insight into my possible blind spots. However, I only use the opinions of others to inform my final decision, not make the decision for me.
My thoughts and hopes are with you as you process this great, transforming decision!

You don't actually know which of your decisions will end up changing your life, or in what ways that change will occur within you.
