this reminds me of an article I just read today in an online newspaper. in the Aurora massacre just a couple of days ago, there were a number of boyfriends who protected their girlfriends and basically 'took the bullet'. they were either deeply wounded or died, while they protected their girls with their bodies. those are true heroes.

I don't know how I, personally, would chose if I were to chose my own life or somebody elses. I like to think of myself as someone who would out of principle chose to sacrifice myself, but who knows how I would react in such an instant? and probably, the less I knew the person, the more likely I would chose to protect my own life.
