I've been doing a good deal of thinking about this one and I've actually caught myself in several instances, since you asked this question, feeling annoyed and asking myself why? In all but one of the events something that annoyed me was annoying exclusively to me. The one event where I was on the same plain with at least three other people was seeing the new Batman movie and being aggravated that it sucked and it was too long. But I was still there of my own volition so realistically I could take responsibility for that one. All that aside, what I discovered was that if I was truly honest with myself, the feeling of annoyance started with me and ended with me. It really had little to do with any outside stimulus. I also realized that the more I ruminated on it the worse it got and it had nothing to do with anyone or anything but me. It was a really enlightening experience.

I will kill a fly that is annoying me with buzzing around my desk/face - not if its across the room.
