Being terribly wrong has helped me so much to see clearly. I came from a very religious, all knowing, one way only outlook on life. I was taught about the different world religions and such and know all I needed to know to make a judgmental call. Then my eyes opened. I had learned all that from Christian resources and not from the sources themselves. As I began to do my own research I found I had been lied to over and over again. It was so humbling. Now, before I open my mouth or from an opinion, I stop to consider where my information has come from and if I need to do further research. Even if I have a solid opinion I am aware I may learn better one day and need to alter or change it and that's ok.

very good question but the answer to the question is a clear mind is possible. though our life experience greatly affect our perception, spirituality, thoughts and persona. you must leave yourself open to new possibilities. if you are a knowledge seeker by choice the truth and the path to enlightenment will be opened to you at some point in your life. humanity need a collective pause from all the distractions that is constantly fed to us by the media and the corporations. we need to ask ourselves what is really important. is it the materialism or consumerism that we are constantly told is the essence of life. the selfishness, intolerance, greed and total disregard to people and the environment the only true way to see sucess in this dog eat dog world we have created for ourselves. the solution starts with each individual asking critical questions and voicing there opinion by the thousands or millions.

and as i've learned to love, my heart has been healed through the experience of forgiveness.
(i don't mean love as in romantic relationships. i mean love as in serving the invalids and untouchables. spending time with the poor in spirit. that is real love.)

forgive to get over trauma or frustration and consistently remind ourselves to live in the present is all that can be done. i struggle with both at times, but i try as best i can. as for the rest? considering i would consider not learning and growing wisdom daily a total life fail and knowing a system restore would eliminate any possibility of that happening, why would i want that?

It took me many years of dedicated effort. Now it is a habit, just as the old way was.

Next time an anxiety hits, put all thoughts of past away. Then put all thoughts of possible future away. What you have left is NOW. Rest in it and you will rest in clarity. Practice this and a new way of living becomes obvious - and what a delightful way of living it is. The new way of living is as habitual as the old one was, but it is much more pleasant.

Think on this: the past no longer exists and can have no affect on you now. the future does not exist. This moment is all there is and you are entirely free in it.

I find that clearing my mind is an impossible act. There are only moments of clarity but even in meditation, your mind wonders and you must bring your focus back your breath or surroundings. I would love to know how to accomplish this. Please share.

I woul just like to make sense of it all,but how do you make sense of senseless acts? Of violence and deprivation? I dont know if you can use you are but I am trying. I know being an ostrich and sticking you head in the sand doesnt work. Also making excuses for bad things people do doesnt either. I dont know the answer I and just now learning there are questions that need asked. Does that make sense?

I don't think our goal should be to clear our mind and rid it from all thoughts and attachments but to really immerse yourself in the activity set out in front of us so that nothing else bothers our mind. Restoration happens during our sleep when everything in our unconsciousness sorts itself out and we wake up feeling revitalized.

I'll meditate every once in a while, and I can usually clear my mind for a good while. Sometimes Mary Jane helps me out, but her assistance is never actually needed.

The only question I ask myself is "Is the clarity and nothingness I am immersing myself in when I meditate actually just another thought, and in fact not nothingness?"

I find clarity by writing in my journal or on my notepad. I ask God to give me clarity and I start writing whatever comes to mind. I continue to write in my journal and ask God is there anymore junk in my head that needs to be cleared out. As I start to write down the junk, fear, and worries that swirl around in my head I tend to uncover the real thing that's causing all the worry and confusion - for me it's all about getting to the root of the problem I'm experiencing. In addition to that I always pray for crystal clear clarity so I can hear clearly and make decisions from my highest and best self.

As Joe Rogan said: "Any intense psychedelic experience is like pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete for your brain." Your use of 'complete system restore' reminded me of that. I wouldn't say that psychedelics clear your mind exactly but they allow you to view yourself and life in a completely different context.

If you take the time to challenge everything you think to be true, examining each belief one by one, you will arrive at a point of clarity or clear mind. It takes a long time or a short amount of time with a lot of dedication but it is attainable. Clear mind isn't about not having beliefs it's really about ensuring that the beliefs you have are your own and not inherited from others. The components for me are a morning meditation and a nightly meditation and brain 'drop', dumping everything that troubled me about the day (even if I have to write it down), I learned how to do this while I lived on my own for about 6 weeks - roughly the amount of time required to develop a new habit. Once you master this, it's pretty easy to access that clear mind again almost instantaneously, and when I follow this ritual I tend to sleep very restfully and wake with a clear mind. However the times I don't follow this ritual - the times I let life get the better of me - I carry it into my dreams.

A swift blow to the head with a hammer has been known to do a reset(results may vary). The term clear mind is as nebulous as the term open mind. Are you saying that experience is a bad thing?
