Interesting. I could see this being used in resuscitation attempts, as a way of helping cells to get o2 more effectively, along with assisted ventilations and compressions. It would do well for successfully resuscitated patients, keeping their ph at better level, and increase the time resusitation attempts go for. But it will be quite some time before this enters actual usage in the field. And it's not a replacement for respirations.

I don't anitcipate we'll be able to run down and buy them at a local walmart. though I can see a syringe full being a part of some kind of emergency kit available for those "high risk" indiividuals..like divers and climbers..by Rx, like a bee sting kit. and possibly becoming a part of emergency equipment on ambulances and such. guess we'll have to wait and see. I thin it's pretty amazing.
