I don't really 'hate' anything as such, merely dislike.

I tend not to hold hate grudges against things because it is a very negative response and that gets in the way of clear reasoning.
Generally I ignore/avoid the things that I dislike/ annoy me...

I hate all organized religions. I wish that they were abolished from this Earth. I believe that the world would be a much better place without them.

After thinking about it, I don't think I have ever *truly* hated. Any "hate" I experience is really just anger - sometimes profound anger - rising from deeply-rooted pain or fear. Usually, at the core of things, I tend to "hate" things that I don't understand, or things that I can't control.
And yourself?

I find it impossible to hate anyone, but injustice, suffering, and cruelty I get worked up about.

The thing I hate most is the inexcusable and inhuman treatment of the innocent creatures which make up a large portion of the human food supply.

although it is easy to hate, i've recently read 'the art of happiness' written by psychologist howard cutler w/ the Dalai Lama and there is a chapter on transforming your hate. this totally blows hate out of the water and tells you to change your perspectives on the people that you dislike.

i feel that life is too short to be holding grudges and hating people; life is to be enjoyed and it's best to embrace everybody because this is the one thing that i learnt form the book, love and compassion comes more naturally to the human being than hate ever did.
so it's surely easy to hate and sometimes i find that i really dislike some things and some people, but i think the person must find certain techniques to combat the 'hate' button in their mind, one way is through compassion and empathy :)

I hate ideas, not people. Everyone is just a victim of circumstance, it is useless to hate them for things beyond their control. You can hate the ideas that they promote, but you have to understand that if you lived their life, you would be doing exactly what they are doing. Hate the game, not the player.

I'm pretty sure that every human is "capable" of hating something, doesn't mean everybody does.

though I would be very happy to see his position and entire hierarchy destroyed for ever, preferably by some horrific scandal... Like discovering that the whole hierarchy had conspired to cover up child abuse on a massive scale...
Oh....
Maybe it will take more than that.
But it's not hate from the heart, it is anger and a desire for justice.

I think it's possible to view the things one hates as simply un-evolved or needing or love and care all the more. It's difficult, and perhaps not really possible, but I like to see the things we hate as being a call for us to activate our compassion so that we can love enough to do something to help transform the person/situation. This is an excellent question. Thanks for posting it~

I hate IT WHEN people are judgmental and close-minded, I hate IT WHEN people are shallow and superficial, I hate IT WHEN people are cruel, hurtful, and mean. I really do try not to hate the people but the actions because people can change.

I like the Biblical stance that the only thing we are "authorized" to hate, is evil. Not the instrument of evil (ie, the person, the tool they use etc). Just the evil.

Evil is anti-life.
Love life. And if you love it enough, you won't have any room/time left to hate.
