What sets off your b.s. detector?

There are phrases and ideas that we hear all the time -- promises for change or betterment -- that we either filter out or balk against for their tendency to be pure bullshit.

To these things, we raise a high and hairy eyebrow.

At SP, when the question poster claims to be a member of a group/school of thought and then proceeds to attempt to discredit the essence of that group/school.

I have a really stong B.S dector, giving my job I have to be able to read people and see through their bullshit. I think it's funny when adults try to lie to me when they know I can see right through it, and when I call them on it, they don't know what to say.

"Absolute morality"...

In fact all absolutes.

I can't find an image that doesn't pick at a particular politician for this.....

What sets off my b.s. detector is this:

Anyone who throws stones at the other party/candidate.
Just tell me what YOU will do if you get elected.
I'll judge for myself whether the other party is b.s.'ing or not.
I don't need to hear your negativity, be led by the nose, vote for the lesser of evils.
I need to hear your best vision for resolving whatever ails us and on building a better future.

I'm not electronically sophisticated enough to do a drawing here (or whatever).
BUT! I do have a BS meter cos I'm a teacher. Ironically enough though, none of the kids in this decade seem to remember that the DOG ATE THEIR HOMEWORK!!!

Ironic photo because I was ranting on the phone this morning with a friend about the bullshit around voting.

Fundamentally, the majority rules and representative democracy can not survive the corruption and special interests constantly pressing on it. It is about money. To think that my views are represented in this country simply by being afforded the right to a single vote for the least dishonest candidate is intolerable.

Others get around this contempt I have by simply voting on a single issue. Whoop de do.
