Are you completely opposite to a sibling? If so, how does it effect your relationship?
Me and my brother have the same taste in music and movies but that's where it stops. He's a lazy, selfish, outspoken stoner who swears every other word and I'm a shy, sensitive person who puts everybody before him, and I hate swearing. We get along almost all the time aside from the times I try to make him tidy up after his self. He's 22 and I'm 20.
Then there's my sister, she's 11 and despite the fact she's selfish, spoiled and irrational, we're both very susceptible to frightening philosophies such as fragility, we're both quite clever and creative. But she and I do not get along an ounce. We can't stand each other, we can't stay in the same room without having an argument about something petty.
Greediness and selfishness really gets my blood boiling, but if both my siblings have these personality traits, why do I only get along with one? Maybe it's because my sister and I are more alike. Maybe if I respected myself more I'd get along with her and vice versa.
I'd appreciate some thoughts on this, whether or not you're in the same situation.
(I apologise if this is more sociology than philosophy)
