Well you know what they say... The first step is acknowledging you have a problem. Then the rest would just follow.

It's easy for me to admit my addictions, whether it be the good ones, or the bad ones. I don't know why exactly.

Depends whether we can view addiction as an altogether "bad thing" or just something that comes pretty naturally to all humans and we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves about it.

Sometimes a word can get a stigma attached to it, "addiction" is definitely one of those.
It's kinda hard for me to identify what my addictions are. I suppose I'm still addicted to cigarettes even though I haven't had one in a year and a half. I don't crave alcohol or any other drugs. I probably was slightly addicted to Facebook but went a month recently without going on it at all. So I suppose the things I'm addicted to are harder to recognise because they aren't the usual examples. I think whatever my addictions are, they lie less in the material and more in my behaviour and attitude.

Yeppers, although it isn't really a harmful addiction I am addicted to stories. My favorites are people's true stories but when i'm not around them I watch the movies, read the books, and any other way i can get my daily fix for the narrative.

I think people should be willing to be open about their addictions. We all have them. Most people would say they are addicted to this or addicted to that, but I think we are addicted to addiction... Kind of like comfort food for the soul... :)

I'm addicted to people. It's a true addiction just like smoking or drugs, what have you. I hate them so much but I just have to have them around me. I can't think straight when I'm with out my fix of people for long periods of time. Though at the same time, when I'm with them I focus on negatives and they become trivial to me. Addictions aren't easy, go figure.

I gladly give in to my addiction every day by downing two cups of strong coffee and, if possible, also acquiring a tasty beverage at Starbucks. I'm also delightfully addicted to marijuana, though I've had to go without for most of my time here in Maryland. My only withdrawal has come in the form of occasionally wishing that I had a bowl to smoke. The stoner culture is just not as prevalent here as where I used to live in Washington and California.

smoking... smoking, smoking smoking. I smoke like a fire and drink like I'm trying to put it out. The drinking isn't a problem because I know my limit and only do it at parties or social settings where it's acceptable to do so, but I smoke about a pack a day.

Lately, movies. Lots and lots of movies. Some days I'll knock out three or four in a row. But sometimes I lose track of my spending and I'm stunned to see my iTunes receipts or checking account statements from my entertainment expenses.

I try to moderate myself but it's that fine line that takes it from a habit to an addiction. No bueno.

I'm addicted to having an occasional cigarette. It's frustrating because I hate them,,I hate the smell, I hate the scratchy feeling it gives my throat. I do not smoke every day, & sometimes when I do smoke it's just one,,,but then if there is something really stressful going on,,I might have 4,,,,and I know it's not a really big deal,,,being an occasional light smoker,,,,but it kind of scares me when I think of both my parents dying from cancer in their 50's. (Although my mom was not a smoker,,,but my biological father had mouth cancer)

This is going to sound crazy, but I'm addicted to a radio show called "Bob & Sheri." I listen to it on podcast EVERY night, even if I've heard it before. I can't go to sleep unless it's in my ears. I've been told I laugh in my sleep while listening to it . . .

Sorry, I didn’t even answer the question. People who aren’t willing to admit they are addicted to something, are obviously embarrassed, and ashamed by what it is that they are hooked on…I was very addicted to alcohol, and it took me a long time to admit that it was a problem…But I don’t believe in the AA, philosophy, where once you are addicted to something you always are. I have no desire to get drunk, or even drink, and haven’t had for years…

Bad addictions: personal pain attributed to past bad experiences, and mechanisms formerly used to cope with it (alcohol, false relationships, self mutilation, pills)
"After I quit smoking pot and drinking too much, I realized that the sober life is way harder"-Devin Townsend on sobriety
Take it another step further, how do we cope with our addictions?
Me: Waking up every morning and it's actually morning (as opposed to evening)

Then again, is there such thing as a "good" addiction? Living a life of balance in the middle way may be the answer. Addictions are attachments to things that may not be healthy. Everything changes and is in a constant state of flux. So an addiction to things that may appear okay, such as chocolate, a t.v. show, or music, is that okay or not okay? Does it demonstrate attachment or taking things to the extreme? Should moderation and balance always exist in our lives? But how is being addicted to music bad, or something else that has the potential to heal?

Chocolate. Vampire Diaries. Shakira's music. Good and bad addictions. Comparing myself to other people (needs to stop). Living in the past and future instead of the present moment, the only moment. Judging others and myself. Not loving myself and being too hard on myself.

Sure I do, but my only addiction is to water. Seriously. I drink around 10 16oz. glasses of water a day, and when I start to drink I down the entire glass in one or two sips. I don't consider it a "bad" addiction, and I'm not sure whether I can call it an addiction at all.

I used to be addicted to LOST. It was really bad, I'd think about it all day, watch at least one episode every day, be on message boards constantly. But then the ending sucked so much balls and completely broke the spell for me. I will be careful never to become so obsessed with a TV show again.
