I've had some remarkably good conversations with Jehova's Witnesses at the door but have been reluctant to let them in. They've always been kind and polite and respectful with me so I am the same way with them. I am what you call a "spiritual atheist" but a Jehova's Witness might conclude I practice sorcery, if told my beliefs. My sister is a Unitarian and she would always invite them in and try to convert them.

Your home is your sanctuary but I suspect you're more reluctant to speak to them out of fear that they can't or won't respect YOUR beliefs and that they'll argue with you. I feel the same way. Just be candid about how you feel and clear that you do not want to speak. They're big boys. hey can handle it.

"do you know where you are going when you die Maam?"
and she has a look that just shudders, with truthful despair - "OH yes, I know exactly where I'm going, ...straight to Hell, goodbye"

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can't shut your door forever. You have to be open to new things. You never fully know that God exists. They could say something that catches you by surprise.

Get a peephole for your door, and just don't answer. If you know they're coming ahead of time, you could get ready and answer the door in some sort of costume.

JW's used to bother my family in our apartment building in NYC all the time when I was a little kid. Saturday, 8:00AM just like clockwork, Knock knock. Then, one morning, my dad became frustrated and disrobed completely. He answered the door to two middle aged JW women who were so mortified (my dad naked isn't, nor was it ever, a pretty site). He tried to invite them in, feigning interest, but they said "Oh, no thank you!" and went on their way.

We never got bothered again there. Apparently, they have to spread the word of god to everyone except for naked old men. I'm gonna do the same thing to anyone who pesters me about their bullshit fairytales. These people disgust me with their foolishness and arrogance.
On a side note, they actually sold their headquarters, The Watchtower in Brooklyn. They're moving upstate in a town adjacent to mine. >.< It seems likely that they'll bother me at my home again, looks like I'll get to show them that I'm uncircumcised after all.

I don't like it when people are rude to these kinds of people. They really are trying to do what they believe is the right thing to do and many are relocated away from friends and family for months to do so. I just politely tell them, thank you, but I'm happy with the way I conduct my spirituality. If they continue to come back, get a contact number for their church from them (they will always have one), so you can call and tell them to stop sending people.

I once knew an immigrant from Iran who would warmly welcome
Mormon missionaries to his house. He kept asking them to come
back. Finally he felt guilty and he admitted to them that he was
just using them to learn English.

I really don't get how they think no one knows what their faith is about. "What is this Christianity you speak of? I've never heard of such a queer thing before!"

I find they make for a great conversation. I kind of miss them coming by. Haven't seen any in years. I used to invite them in for coffee since they usually came in the morning. It always gave me a chance to warm up my brain muscle.
