Its so weird because the military practically pushes BC onto recruits to regulate their cycles, while the state gov'ts are fighting to keep BC out of peoples' hands. I really don't understand this double standard among gov't agencies.

I honestly don't understand why all this sh*t is getting kicked up... so let me try to get this entire issue straight. Some nut jobs want employers to be able to cherry pick what is covered by the health insurance offered to employees, mainly birth control pills, and these are usually the same nut jobs that are 'pro-life'?

Limiting access to contraceptives is a sure fire way to do a few things- increase the number of abortions being preformed. Increase the number of people receiving assistance (ie food stamps and WIC). Reduce the amount of time employees can actually spend at work (ie pre and post natal care, maternity leave, etc etc). So what the hell is the upside of this?
On top of that there have been studies that theorize a link between the number of 'unplanned pregnancies' and crime rates. If that theory is correct you can add an increased crime rate 15 to 20 years down the line to the long list of why this bullshit is a bad idea.

It's already been taken too far. Now any HMO can claim to be "religious" and refuse to provide ANYONE with contraception.

Obviously that proposed Arizona law takes it too far which is exactly why it could never pass in the American system.

There isnt a controversy.
There is opinion having its say and incompetent power attempting to bend to it's citizen's whims.

I just read that german health insurance only pays for the pill until you are 20 years old, and after that only if it is for medical reasons. And Germany has some pretty good health care coverage.
