Not a religion question: What do you believe in?

I believe in cupcakes and comfy pillows, being goofy and the color yellow (wow, that rhymed). I believe in everlasting friendships and heart-shaped foods. I believe that given the opportunity, people will do good things. I believe in bow ties and bathing suits, books and documentaries. Front porch swings and hot cocoa. I could go on for hours.

So what little things do you believe in? Get creative!

What does it take to believe in something? What is the measure of it? Does fighting for it, defending it against the hypocritical blasphemy of the world mean believing in it? Or does one simply have to realize that strong feeling inside him in order for it to be called believing in something?

Whatever your definition of faith and belief may be, I may say that I will always believe in chivalry.

Humans are selfish. Their greed is destructive. What we call ‘conscience’ is a fleeting thing in times of desperation. I wouldn’t take the time to impose my self-truths on you and make them into your reality, but I’d still make it a point for you to see it. I believe there is good in every person. Sure, put in all those clichéd notions such as ‘there is always a hero deep inside a villain’ and so on, but this is something I feel that rings true, no matter how destroyed or twisted one’s natural humanistic character can be. I believe in doing good for others, even though they mostly – always – fail to notice and acknowledge it. Yes, in retrospect, it appears as though it is a waste of effort, a waste of goodness, especially when it doesn’t reap any visible immediate or even long-term result. If I were to focus on this aspect of my doing, how else would I differ with the commonplace human that is centered on its self, only seeking for benefit, always wanting something in return? I believe in ignoring people’s selfishness. I believe in standing in the LRT to give my seat to others. I believe in opening the door for someone. I believe in letting someone go first in a line. I believe in sacrifice. I believe in all of these.

I don’t do this to make others put me in a state of being a gentleman, if they ever notice. That is only another form of selfishness. A clever but disgustingly hidden selfishness. I don’t mind if other people think I’m ‘plastic’ or whatever term they may use. And I don’t envision, nor is it my will, for everyone to bring out their good inside of them, though that will never be possible even if I did want it. It would ruin the balance. It would destroy the structure of society, of competitiveness. Everyone would fall into complacency with each other. We would all be stuck in a peace that is more disturbing and chaotic than wars can ever bring. I don’t want any of that. I just keep doing it because I believe in it.

I Believe In The Constant Presence Of Hope In Life, In The Strength Of The Human Soul To Prevail Through Any Circumstance. I Believe In The Presence Of A Higher Power, And That We Come From A Lot Of Funny Stories.

I Believe In Life, I Believe In That Little Spider That Crosses Your Way In The Morning, I Believe In The Morning Light That Streams Through The Windows On A Cool Sunday Morning.

I believe in truth and honesty. I believe in balance, philosophy and forgiveness. I believe in meditation, exercise and good food. I believe the way you dress is a beautiful form of art and expression. I believe in reading books made of paper. I believe in kindness and compassion towards everything and everyone. I believe music transforms us. I believe in dancing in your underwear. I believe we are all connected.

I believe in enjoying life in a way that doesnt limit other peoples freedom.
in not fearing to think about deep sh*t.
in not fearing.
in wine, beer and home made food.
in beauty and awesomeness
in, given the oppourtunity people will do bad things (but they can be taught not to)

I believe in marriage.

I believe in the energy that is created when two combine to become a thing that is more than the sum of its parts. I believe that energy is reinforced through the glue of having kids together. Raising them together and getting through the challenges...together.

I also believe that this is not the singular answer for all people. The beauty of humanity is in the variety of ways that people can fulfill their specific beliefs. There isn't one concrete rule that everyone needs to follow. Different strokes for different folks.

I believe that good things happen to good people, and that a positive attitude is the answer to all problems.

I believe that the best cure for a bad day is a workout that makes you really sweat. I believe in really good food. I believe in haiku. I believe that you can have a totally fulfilling friendship with someone who lives on the other side of the globe. I believe we were meant to watch performances outside, like Shakespeare in the Park or jazz festivals. I believe that animals and very young children can see things grown-ups don't see. I believe that art and music are God.

I believe in living life with joy and peacefulness. I believe in doing what you are doing with pride in your work.

I believe in love and in friendship

Rainbows and butterflies....

I believe in people. That inside they are good in the end. I believe life needs adventure. I believe in being kind to others simply for the sake of being kind. I believe love and life will find a way.

I believe in puppies, pencils, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookies. I believe everyone can conquer their fears. I believe in living life in the now and doing random things. I believe in living life with a smile! :)

I believing in not believing in anything.

I believe in truth goodness and humanity. I believe in God, my children, my mother. I believe in love, lust and laughter. I believe in positive auras, good energy and greatness. I believe in myself. I believe in gourmet meals comfort foods and gatherings with family and friends. i believe in Dolphins and learn from their care free existance. I believe in special moments, unspoken words and smiles from total strangers. I believe in finding purpose in my life and the appreciated direction it has taken.

I believe in taking in the positive and ruling out the negative.

Baths, movies, art, music, nature, life as art and poetry, magic.

I believe in books and grey areas! I believe in exerting positive energy and karma. I believe in babies, drinking hot tea at night, and walks. I believe in hard working, in traveling and in the 7 chakras! I believe there is a reason and a season for everything. I believe that life is composed of moments, the lengths vary, as well as the emotions...These moments can be sad, happy, exciting, painful, sorrowful, but they are just moments and they'll pass. I believe in love, loving, and I love you's. I believe what's meant to be will be. I believe in my family and friends.

I believe in facts. The fact of love, the fact of music, the fact of humor. That sort of thing.

I believe in anything that sparkles, quiet days at the beach, and eating a sunday roast dinner with my parents. I believe in sunny days, novelty gadgets, skinny bracelets and big watches. I believe we'e all born good and people are more generous than you give them credit for. I believe in hip hop and its evolution. I believe that it's important to hug people because something as small as a hug could help someone. I believe in a tidy appearance around those you're not close to and an untidy one around those you are very close to. I believe in sweat pants at home and a kind word to others. I believe in inspirational quotes and a positive attitude.
