A little bird or flock of them- reminds me of when Jesus speaks about how precious people are to him and how he knows them.

Tough because my cave is full of symbols. The most meaningful is my R.E.M. Life's Rich Pageant cassette because I just remember listening to this 2 years ago on the beach with my friends. It was just a good time.

I like this question. I have a love of trees. Something about them makes me feel safe. I don't really understand what it is, but they have a special significance to me. They seem to be filled with wisdom.

I don't have anything I own that is particularly symbolic except for things that were designed as symbols. My old Army rank and medals, for example. I haven't taken that stuff out of the box for, well... Ever.

I have a little blouse hanging on my bedroom door knob. It reminds me to never be under a man's thumb ever again. I bought it at Woodstock. It was muddy at Woodstock and wearing the backless, braless bit of blouse made it easier to wash the mud from my skin. I liked the bright print and the style. The problem was that my Army Staff Sergeant husband was livid when he saw it on me and beat me badly for wearing it. I left him. The blouse reminds me that I have my freedom and I will never again get beat down for every infraction of made up rules. It also reminds me that I was so very tiny at 80 lbs. and that husband kept calling me "fat". I had brought my weight down to 70 lbs. for him, but I was hospitalized until my weight was increased to 95 lbs.. The blouse says, 'never again!'
