What Do You Love to Do the Hard Way?

I recently read an article on Scientific American that mentioned how performing tasks the hard way can improve intelligence. It turns out that the brain is a muscle that you can train!

Doing things the hard way includes tasks as simple as driving without a GPS (no Google map apps, either!), sewing your own items, cooking from scratch, adding without a calculator, and doing your own taxes -- basically using your brain to do anything that a machine could do for you.

I.Q. numbers aside, when I perform a task the hard way, I feel more in control of my life and as though I better enjoy the experience of living!

SoulPancake wants to know: What is one thing that you do the hard way?
