It's all about judgement, time, and place. Wrestling in a dark locker room, while on duty, on a naval vessel???

Wrong place, wrong time, poor judgement. You need to bond? So bond. You need to get to know each other? Fine, have a chat. You want to wrestle? Get on a wrestling team or box in a boxing match in a ring with a referee and rules.
You wanna get your ya ya's out, then be smart about it. DON'T DO IT AT WORK. Act like a professional if you want to be treated like one. This isn't a school yard or a fraternity house - it's the U.S. military. If I went to work and a new person came to my department, and we all said, in order to be "one of us" you're gonna have to let us choke you, wrestle you, and take whatever humiliation we dish out, I'd be fired on the spot. But somehow in the Military that kind of thing is OK? Grow up and get over it.. There's enough fighting in the world. Save your testosterone for the battle field.

No, they weren't discharged "thanks to the DADT" , had nothing to do with it.
They were discharged for violation of the "no hazing" rule. and they were fortunate that they recieved /only/ a general discharge.

What does being discharged for hazing (a good thing, I think) have to do with DADT?

There is absolutely no way you didn't do that on purpose. Also, what does that link have to do with DADT?

Ok I read the article... I can assure you this isn't anything new and this has nothing to do with DADT.

Yeah and when I was in boot camp there were people discharged for hazing and that was 6 years ago. Hazing has been historically a sort of right of passage in military units... however people have been killed and disabled during hazing so the Navy made a zero tolerance policy. Hazing still happens in the military however it's much more hush hushed... that doesn't make it right though. Physical abuse is not a way to build teamwork.
