But on the real. I've tried to save people and it turns out my attempts were futile. I didn't really know HOW to save people back then. Do I know how to save people now? Kind of... and yeah, it is rather selfish. But sometimes you just gotta take control of someone's life, and twist and contort it until it meets a better standard of life. Sometimes, you just gotta grab that w***e and drag her inside your house and chain the b*tch up until she stops bein' a w***e.

I'm frustrated by people easily. So it really depends on how much I care about the person or how cooperative they are.

Its not selfish to enlighten yourself, even if you do keep it to yourself. If you are truly on the path of truth, then the changes you will undergo will automatically be felt by the world around you. You will feel more connected to others if you truly understand them, which would ultimately affect how you dealt with people. I have felt the same way and that whole "being selfish" belief only serves to hold back your internal growth. Let it go - it is just a fear implanted on your by a culture that does not value honesty, enlightenment and self-integrity.

Seeking to learn and better yourself is only selfish if you keep it to yourself. And really, who is there that you are better qualified to teach and better, than yourself? And also being Human means you're learning not just about yourself but the Human condition as well. (And nubniks on those who think they are SO special and SO unique that the processes and thoughts of themselves vs others are SO dissimilar as to dismiss any commonality).

The more selfish stance is perhaps trying to "rescue" the "inferior".
It's certainly more arrogant.

It's never been a part of me to tell people what to do. People deserve to make their own decisions and lead their own life. I can only try and lead by example.

Both lol. Whenever I see one of my friends that I used to, live the crazy life with, I always ask 'em "So when are you gonna get your sh*t together and chill-out?". And they laugh.
