I would do almost anything to achieve this for my love. I would be whatever she needs me to be whenever she needs me to be that for as long as I live. I would always accept her. I would let her go, but never stop loving her.

Nothing, until I have found it. Everything that is good in life, when I have it. When I've lost it... I'm not sure what love will be to me when I've lost it. Perhaps the bane of my happiness.

I'm trying to paint a picture here, of something whose meaning changes relative to experience of said thing. With just the right amount of cheese to make it sound cool and elicit sarcastic responses and possibly contribute to a future flame war.

I wish that I were able to express myself as perfectly (and poetically) as some of the greats. As I cannot, I offer Deutsch's translation of Pushkin's "I Loved You." It meets me where I am, so far as love is concerned.

I loved you; and perhaps I love you still,
The flame, perhaps, is not extinguished; yet
It burns so quietly within my soul,
No longer should you feel distressed by it.
Silently and hopelessly I loved you,
At times too jealous and at times too shy.
God grant you find another who will love you
As tenderly and truthfully as I.

Love is when your heart sees another human being and feels and cares for them. You see their faults and still love them, you help them and they help you through life to survive. If there was no love in this world I don't know if anyone could survive everyone would probably become depressed which leads to hate and sadness. Love is a feeling the whole world needs to share. Love not war.
Love between two beings is something special. The man I am with I love him for his personality, his humor, his kindness, his respect most of all the feelings we have for each other. We are there for each other and help through hard times and good times. We make the best of everything we have. He's my best friend. The love that is shared is unexplainable I can not even put into words how powerful Love is. Its precious, fragile, kind and so much more!!! <3

This is love:
Looking back, he sees it all..
It was her first date the night he came to call
Her dad said, "Son, have her home on time. And promise me you'll never leave her side."
He took her to a show in town
And he was ten feet off the ground
He was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh, the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him
Down that old road, with the stars up above
He remembers where he was the night he fell in love
He was walking her home..
Ten more years in a waiting room..
At half past one
The doctor said, "Come in and meet your son."
His knees went weak
When he saw his wife
She was smiling as she said, "He's got your eyes."
And as she slept he held her tight
His mind went back to that first night..
He walked her through the best days of her life
Sixty years together and he never left her side..
A nursing home at eighty-five..
The doctor said, "It could be her last night.."
And the nurse said, "Should we tell him now, or should he wait until the morning to find out?"
When they checked her room that night..
He was laying by her side..
He was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh, the way she smiled when he said,"This is not the end."
And just for a while they were eighteen
And she was still more beautiful to him than anything
He was walking her home..
Looking back, he sees it all..
It was her first date the night he came to call

Simultanious connection from the inside out, and the outside in/
It gives us purpose, it gives us strength, it gives, it gives, giving is its mission/
The gift of being, the gift of now, the gift of sharing the moment with others again, again, and again.

"And so today, my world it smiles,
your hand in mine,
we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done,
for you to me are the only one.
Happiness,
no more be sad,
happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine,
I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea,
there will still be you and me."

I think that above statement realizes commitment, devotion, loyalty, blind following without regard for self. This isn't negative, just what I responded to.

What is love?
Love is when I think about squeezing the "juice" out of my baby daughter when I hug her, but I don't.
Love is wanting to be surrounded by any sensation of that person, all the time. Touching, standing, whatever.
Trust is part of love, but not all of it.
Loyalty is part of love, but not all of it.
Not losing yourself, still feeling whole and sharing a life together.
Respect is part of love, not all of it.
Humor is part of it, but not all of it.
Appreciation for difference is also a huge part.
I don't know what it all is. I wasn't good at it except for my daughter.

Peaking sunshine as I feel the sand between my toes
Reaching down to your dirt-stained hands barely slipping out of reach
Lounging about in a cobweb of unity we trace the stars
With a gust of breath, we blow the dust away from this antique book
Salty tears leave a puddle of truth at our shoeless feet
My knees quiver as I leave you to your journey
Wander the majestic mountains and let yourself grow
A hazy dream, you arrive at my doorstep with tokens of wisdom
We were always together, watching our stories unfold through a delicate crystal ball
