There's no doubt: Science is the way to understand the natural world around us. It's beauty and mystery can better be described through the language of mathematics than the vagaries of religious literature. I'm an agnostic, though, so I leave the possibility of God's existence open. And he might exist. I have no problem with that. But I do have a problem with religion interpreting science to fit it's personal narrative (ie. Intelligent Design), or even worse--stymieing the advancement of science.

I like to think of myself as a little bit past the point of insane. Whereas I believe in God, I believe in Science as well. I believe that to some degree, God is science, but science is not God. For me, God defines science. Let us take a practical example: Evolution.

I like to think of myself as a little bit past the point of insane. Whereas I believe in God, I believe in Science as well. I believe that to some degree, God is science, but science is not God. For me, God defines science. Let us take a practical example: Evolution.
The Theory of Evolution states that humans evolved from ape-like creatures, which evolved from a single-celled organism. Obviously, this took a while. Whereas the Bible states that God created man from the dust. Some would view these views as extremely oppositional, but to me they make perfect sense as one explanation. I believe that evolution happened by means of God. It says that God created man from the dust, does it not? Well most organic materials lie in the soil, ergo could he have not cause that one in eight billion chance of a single protein forming, and bringing about an organism?
I believe that we evolved from ape-like creatures. Even in the Bible there are anatomical changes in humans. After God decided to flood the earth, He said that humans would no longer live past 120 years. Whereas Adam lived to be over 900 years old, according to the Old Testament. That had to be a significant change. Also, looking back throughout the ages, neanderthals were short, hairy, with smaller skulls. It says in the Bible that Esau was a favored child, and that he was strong and hairy. No, we may not have evolved from apes, but don't you think that humans may have evolved from something extremely ape-like.
That's the best example I can use to describe my belief, but once again I restate: For me, God is science, but science is not God.

Defiantly not god. When you think about it no religion makes sense. It's all bullshit someone made up. There is no god. I believe in logic and things that actually happened.

I believe in nothing anymore. And it's probably gonna stay that way. I can't bring myself to give any supernatural, spiritual or religious dogma the benefit of the doubt.

I am a Druid. I believe in the power of the Earth, Sky, and Sea. I think that everything is connected and that creativity and love are forces stronger than they are given credit for. I also believe that plants and the power of intention are the most healing forces in the world and that everything you do comes back to you in three different ways.

I believe in God. I pray to a force greater than me most every day, usually for strength and wisdom to make good choices. I believe in the power and force of nature above all. I try to live a life that is good, and there's no getting around being part of a manufactured, engineered, artificial world. But whenever, however, wherever I can, I submit to the rules of nature and try not to get in its way.

Do I believe in Science? Yes, however it should agree with Religion. As science without religion becomes materialism and religion without science becomes superstition.
Do I believe in Satan? Yes, as it was Jesus way of explaining how souls suffer in both this world and the world to come AND No because I believe it was symbolic and that the absence of Light is darkness.
Do I believe in Pop Tarts? they are people putting their talent to use.

I really do believe in a Higher Power....as a kid I was convinced that my religion was the only right religion. But as I became older, I realized that religion served it's purpose in our societies. Whether it was to police a community with the threats of brimstone and hell if you messed up or did the wrong thing, or to help politicians with winning votes or they you thought. Now, accepting the fact that I'm gay, I face another issue of being rejected (like I was with my family) by the second group I grew up with; my church family. How can a God that created me in His image say that it is wrong for me to live the way I do or not be proud of who I am?

I believe in God. I hate religion. I believe in Salvation - asking God to send the Holy Spirit into your heart/life/soul, etc...so that you can be sure you are going to heaven. So, I believe the Bible. But on the flip side I am searching for what I believe in more depth. I hold the things I said before to be true. But I grew up in a "CULT" like Fundamental Brain Washing Environment where you were forced to believe things. So, I don't know what is true and what isn't. I am on a journey. A path. So, I am starting over. I believe in God. And the way to heaven but beyond that - I am searching. I want to know the God of love...Not the God of judgement and damnation. I am also looking for a book on religious abuse and how to overcome something like that. I believe in people - that there is something really good inside most of us out here. And that we can change the world.

I believe in God and the saving revelation of Jesus Christ. I believe in the ever-present Holy Spirit which runs through and connects all Creation. I believe in free will, and I believe humans are capable of so much good and can make great changes in the world. I also know that humans are capable of great horror and hatred. But I'd rather have free will and choice than be a puppet.

Once upon a time, a friend of mine declared his hatred for the way Christians act - or, I should say, how he thought they acted. He lectured me on how they try to convert everyone to share the same beliefs they do, and how they take everything the "little book of hell" (as he called it) and stretch it around until it becomes what they want.

I am a Christian, but I don't believe in everything the bible says. Stories are passed down through words, which can be lost through time. I don't care how accurate you think your story is, there will always be bits and pieces changed as life goes on and it is passed from person to person.
I believe in one powerful being - whether that's God or some other divine force, I'm not quite sure. I believe that people are a curse, not a prize to the Earth. No matter what your religion is, it's not your "duty" to persuade others to share it. Religion was invented to give people a sense of peace, a sense of purpose. And for people to turn it into a war is unfair to their enemy, to themselves, and to the overall image of mankind.
