What do you sacrifice for the truth?
Red Pill or Blue Pill
"what were you just looking at?"
"What?"
"What were you just looking at, on the computer, what was that?"
Red Pill. Or Blue Pill. Seconds earlier there was a pair of perfectly formed boobs on the computer screen. You heard the door knob. The footsteps. Felt another human presence in the room. Your mouse races up to that tiny x, which to you would mark salvation if it wasn't so goddamn small. You manage to close your "work" before her eye is filled to the brim with another woman's parts. Now you're Morpheus. You're Morpheus and you have two options.
Red Pill or Blue Pill.
You can let her live in the matrix. A simple and artfully crafted "I was looking for a birthday present" should, if done correctly, allow her to live in her dream world where you are still a faithful human being. Sure, it is living a lie. Sure, it isn't reality. But face it, reality blows. Your parents tell you Santa exists because they want Christmas to be fun. The church tells you God has certain expectations of you so you behave. Companies tell you their products are the best so you buy them. And if a sugar pill cures cancer because of the placebo effect, who has the heart to say that isn't reality?
Then again, there is something to waking up isn't there? Shouldn't we all strive for the truth and therefore have an obligation to assert it? You owe your girlfriend a truth, a conversation and a promise because that's what we owe the world.
Red pill. Or Blue Pill. Which do you say?
