Why is it that we seek advise of strangers to only confirm what we know in our hearts to be true?

Today is my first day on here and I love love love it. But as I read some of these questions I hear mainly cries for confirmation. I do this too. Why do we reach out to others to validate the desires of our hearts? Why is it important to us to know how our following these passions will be perceived?

Because we are judged constantly by multiple sources, so we doubt ourselves for most any action or reaction. The secret is to know yourself and brush off the judgers.

Because we've taken a beautiful thing and turned it against itself. Human interaction will be restored someday.
