I laugh a lot. Also sometimes at inconvenient moments. I think things are funny when others don't. My mom used to say I laugh "too loud". And I can shed a couple tears at commercials or hearing a story in class. This past Christmas, I teared up at a Wal-Mart commercial. Then my sister made fun of me. So I laughed. Both emotions in less than one minute.

I think I let my emotions show a bit too much but I believe people should be open and honest. I only say a bit too much cause thats the reaction I get.... not like the movies, that's for sure.

If we could all put our hearts on our sleeves it would be a good thing. Maybe we would think twice before saying and doing hurtful things.

I would describe myself as very passionate. I do tend wear my heart on my sleeve. I used to view this as a bad thing, but I've learned to now embrace it. My heart is still on my sleeve, but its wearing nice base layer for protection now.

It depends on where I am- I let loose my emotion if alone. I can also "emote" with a good friend. I certainly would not at work- not a safe place for that at all- so, it simply depends on where I am.

"Where, when, why, and how do you allow yourself to let loose with emotion..." - I guess I have to ask a question about your question if you don't mind horribly. Is it just me or isn't it nearly impossible to control?

I ask because at the most innappropriate times (at a play or even at a funeral) when my dry sense of humor takes over, I laugh. In a venue full of strangers as I watch my children sing/act/perform/play my heart swells with pride, I cry. Not just a chuckle or a tear, gut-busting hysterical laughter, streams of tears, snot, the whole nine yards. It just comes upon me and is mine to deal with.
You "lock it insiders" give me a little advice. I am embarassing myself.

Emotions dont lie. They are natural and important to understanding what you're feeling. As someone who kept emotions very deep inside as a child, crying openly and accepting my feelings as they come was a big breakthrough. Showing your feelings is definitely good. On the other hand, I think you can go further, and acheive a more controlled yet honest place with your feelings. People who meditate are generally calmer, and have the ability to rethink stronger emotions like anger and replace them with calmer reactions. I think this is very healthy and something we should all strive for. The recognition and understandiong of our emotions to the point that we can decide to modify them for the better.
