Kids are still here, but asleep and then daughter leaves first and then son and then I will be here, off and on, on SP posting silly questions, because I need to laugh and have fun. You see, I am a kid, a 61yo kid and I plan to play!

I've spent my share of Christmases alone when I was out trying to lose myself in the world. And the best ones were where I took the initiative to be around other people. I spent a few at the local Men's Mission, talking, getting to know people, sharing a Christmas meal.

There are enough people alone in the world that one has no excuse to be alone unless that is a their choice; and hopefully a choice for positive reasons. (As in, if you are freely making choices that will have a negative impact on you and you know they will have a negative impact on you, you need help).
If you find even one other person who is alone (and doesn't want to be) . . . you will have helped two people. Even if your spirit is at peace enough that "aloneness" -- even on a family holiday -- doesn't bother you, why not reach out to someone who's aloneness has degraded into "loneliness"?
