Would, you, being able bodied, date an individual with a disability?
Being a disabled woman in a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy often makes me ponder the following question: Would, you, being an able bodied person date an individual with a disability? I guess the answer depends upon your perspective. I would like to make my case, and say that I am a normal person despite my disability. I eat with a fork and spoon, and sometimes, with my hands. I wake up every morning with bed head. I just need some special assistance doing these things. I crave love and intimacy and all of my life, I have had trouble in the dating arena. I understand that you may be afraid of what you can't quite comprehend, but I'm just looking for someone to accept me for who I am, disability and all.
Would you date someone with a disability, mental or physical? Why or why not? Would you be more apt to consider once you got to know the person instead of basing it on looks or ability alone?
