Talk about stuff that matters.

Why do people feel obligated to give gifts on Christmas? Why do they feel guilty if they don't?

Let's be honest, getting & giving gifts is an awesome feeling. But why on this day in particular is it such a huge deal? I think surprise gifts throughout the year when you're doing well financially or feeling a little more generous would be alot better and more meaningful than when you're put under the stressful holiday pressure of a deadline with crazed shoppers with no mercy over a toaster-oven. Most people get literally MENTALLY INSANE in the stores this time of year. Gifts are nice but why make it the sole focus of the holiday? It shouldn't be.
