What would happen if there was no cynicism in the world?

Assume that no one ever assumed that anyone had an underlying motive for doing whatever they are doing (Don't assume that no one has an underlying motive). How might the world be a different place?

i guess i never assume someone has an underlying motive anyway. i usually act freely to help anyone because i'm not usually doing anything that important anyway.

If there's a world where people are dishonest (or at least misleading) but nobody ever suspects it, I don't imagine they're very clever, so I'm gonna say they never made it out of the Stone Age.

Not sure what such a world would be like, but a comment on one form of cynicism.

It's the fear that others could be a scheming and as devious as we know we can be in the presence of an underlying motive!

I know that underlying motives exist but for the most part consider them a limited threat to me personally, because I seem to be able to "see" those motives. If someone takes advantage of me for that willingness to trust so they can play some personal control drama . . . . I'll let that come to rest on their soul rather than on mine. I know that I've done my part in giving them a chance to rise above simply be a "Human Agenda" to take a shot at being and actual "Human Being".

Many more people would get shafted.

In my experience , the vast majority of people are well intentioned and seeking to manifest goodness .
And cooperation with others has been shown to have an intrinsic survival function even in the earliest ages of human development ..
