As cliche as it sounds I would die for love. Any and all love. Love for a significant other, a family member, a friend, or a belief.

Freedom. Watching the situation in Tibet these past years has proven to me that the freedoms we have, to speak, to protest, to go where we want, to bear arms, to vote, to be who we are...these are worth giving my life for.

I would of course die for my kids and I would probably put myself in harms way to save just about anyone in need of help during an accident or emergecy... I think almost anyone would (not everyone of course)... It's human nature.

I would die for my sisters and brother in a heartbeat if it meant keeping them out of harms way.

Close friends and family. Or, if there was a little kid running across the road I would be the guy in the movie that dives and pushes the kid out of the way. If I died I think the kid would grow up and would hopefully try to be the best they could be knowing that someone gave their life for them. Kind of like when Tom Hanks dies for Matt Damon in Saving Private Ryan. "Earn this."

Every time I see one of these videos, I hope to see my brother, Jim, one last time. But you know what?
They all look like Jim.

To have a moment with my late husband to say thank you for all the wonderful years. Even though I clearly said that 3 days before he died. We knew death was going to come that soon.

Justice. In a truly just world, dying for your cause would be a lot less necessary. That is, justice would bring compassion, fairness, equality. Thing is, the most courageous act is not dying for a cause, but walking the walk, talking the talk, peacefully living your truth. Living your life in service to your most prized possession or ideal does more to protect and preserve what you hold dear than dying ever will. Once you're dead, you're dead - game over. As long as you as you are alive you have power. The dead are powerless.

Yet,I have the utmost respect to those in our police and armed forces for putting themselves in harm's way to spare the rest of us the danger. I support the troops intensely. I also abhor war just as intensely.
If pushed to an ultimatum, I would do anything to protect my children, including step in harm's way for their sake.
