my husband wondered why his parents /didn't/ circumcise him...when he had to be circumcised at age 45. and exceptionally unpleasent experience. had nothing to do with taking a shower. and nobody is cutting of the tip of anything. and there have been some indications that cicumcision may reduce the chance of cervical cancer. but the jury is still out on that one. there is more than one "medical concern"
female circumcison is a whole 'nuther story.

I used to be for it, but lately I've been reconsidering, considering it's not even a Qur'anic practice. Religion is usually why people circumcise their children too. Lastly, don't even get me started on female "circumcision"...

And if it's true that you have "driven nails into my body without flinching, fallen off of atv's, chopped up my hand in a blower, ran parts of my body over," and not felt it, you may have congenital analgesia, you should probably get that checked out.
As to the nature of your question, people do stupid sh*t all the time, especially when religion is involved.

San Francisco is trying to ban it. At least one city in the United States of Jesusland is rational.

HOLY sh*t! I've had two sons and I AM SO GLAD THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THIS DONE! Their "Numbing" agent didn't seem to make much of a difference either. That baby was definitely feeling some thing, some very painful things. No wonder I'm so bitter toward my parents, f*****g INFANTILE GENITAL MUTILATION, WTF!
