I almost forgot. I wanted to be a boy. I prayed to God every night that the next morning I would wake up with a penis. I really didn't know at all how that worked. So, every morning, I would look in my pants, just to be disappointed to not find a penis. I questioned my faith, even though I kept praying and checking.

It didn't matter. My mom let me be a tomboy and called it natural, saying she was a tomboy herself when she was a kid, and that her cousins were all boys. So all good, dressing up as a cowboy, or Thunder Cat gear, having my neighbors ask me why I did that, or other kids from school or kids who didn't know me ask me "are you a boy or a girl?"
At 11, womanhood struck with the fist of blood, cramps, breasts, pimples, and well, it was evident I was a girl.
I grew up all religious and catholic. My parents sent me to an all girls' high school, thinking they would protect me from sin, boys, sex and life. Little did they know, one afternoon I was waiting outside after school for them to pick me up, with all the other girls, sitting on the sidewalk inside. I had this thought, "if being a lesbian weren't a sin, I would be a lesbian... but it's a sin, so moving on..."
Today, I can say I achieved somehow my dream. I am gay. I chose it. Hahahhaha! Kidding... And I am me, if I wanna dress girly or not girly, I do what I want.
So maybe my inner child got her prayer answered after all.
Now, imagine how awesome it would have been if I had been a Veterinarian Lesbian! I would have my own Bravo reality TV show!

I wanted to be a veterinarian. I loved my dogs. I was so sure. But as I got older I realized I was super bad at math and science, so no way I could be a vet.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an Egyptologist. I was so fascinated by everything that I learned about Ancient Egypt and would just read book after book after book. Within the last week, my history professor stirred up some of these old memories while we were learning about Egypt in class, and now I've been reading again. I still remember so much.

I don't know why I wanted to be an astronaut. Maybe it was because I wanted to see Outer Space. I think it was the gear. That astronaut suit looks pretty awesome.
Meh, I'll just save up about 15 million dollars and take a tourist trip. ^_^

I wanted to be Chuck Norris. Walker, Texas Ranger was my favorite show growing up. I would watch it every morning as I got ready for school I was envious of his black friend. There weren't any African Americans where I grew up.

I wanted to be a dolphin trainer and work at Marineland. I was awed when the dolphin would come speeding like a torpedo underneath the trainer and push them into the air like a rocket! I was never sure what to study to prepare for that kid of job. For a while I wanted to be a forest ranger, until I realized they had all the responsibility of beat cop, but no gun and little authority. I wanted to lead nature hikes and do campfire talks, not try to calmly reason obnoxious drunken campers. I wanted to be a gospel singer. I don't believe in the gospel, but I do love the singing.
