I quit smoking 6 weeks ago.. i just ran out and was too busy to get to the gas station.. then i realized it had been a couple days, so i just decided to quit. it wasn't anything planned, just the right time i guess. i would recommend not telling anyone though--there's nothing more obnoxious than the, "I thought you quit!!" jerks if you fall off the wagon.

But yeah- same addiction as smoking.
And will probably have similar long term effects as smoking too. Like bladder cancer. Lesser known possible result of smoking. My stepmother just died of it and it wasnt pretty. She also kept smoking to the very end.

Do nicotine patches and meds like Chantrix or Wellbutrin work of those kind of tobacco issues as well?

When you get a craving, do 10 push ups or however many it takes for the craving to go away. You'll stand up feeling renewed -- chest heaving -- pumped full of fresh, oxygenated blood. Just an idea.

Talk to your doctor. There are medications that reduce cravings. The first two weeks suck, but it will get better.
