"Another Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg. The idea that you can be in love with someone and lose touch, only to find them again when you're older and life has happened to you, is one of the saddest things in the world. The "what if..."

"Imagine" by John Lennon! I remember when I heard it on the closing of the movie, "The Killing Fields", I cried and cried, I still cry, because I still can imagine and still do. In fact I found a photo book, like a childrens book and read it to my daughter at night when she was young, she's 18 now and that's one of her favorite songs too!

'Lazy Eye' by Silversun Pickups makes me tear up. So does Shiny Toy Guns' cover of 'Major Tom', and a few tracks by Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr, if I'm in the right frame of mind. In most cases it's more about the emotion in the vocals and the power of the instrumentation than lyrics for me. I cry more for trouble and triumph than for sadness.

10,000 miles by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Every effing time the song plays on Fly Away Home I start to cry. My mom and I were talking about the scene recently, and I had tears in my eyes.

Stupid as it will sound, I cry at the "our songs" of my ex-marriage: "Solid as a Rock" by Ashford and Simpson, "Suddenly" by Billy Ocean and "Just Once" by James Ingram.
