No one can answer that question. Science doesn't know why there should be anything at all other than a void. I think the universe manifests something. That something, the ground of being, I like to call God. But call it what you want.

there is only something to we that are part of the "something" - to others, there is nothing. Example - some animals can only see in black and white. To them, there is no color. Does that mean that color does or doesn't exist?
