Colors

I have always wanted to discover a deeper understanding of colors and what they mean in our world and in our lives? Spiritually? Mentally? Physically? Why are they so important? Even beyond scientific or in lieu of scientific discoveries, theories, suggestions, etc.

the only input i have is scientific... Colors are most important in regards to living things. Animals evolve to have different colors for a few reasons. These reasons are to blend in better with their surroundings, differentiate themselves from similar animals, increase their chance of procreation, adapt to their specific enivronment and eco system. Colors and pigments are just other factors where animals, plants, and insects can differententiate themselves enough to fit comfortably in the chain of living things on our planet.

Think about the first time you saw the Wizard of Oz. Remember the first color scene, when Dorothy steps out of the farm house and into the Munchkin Village? Do you remember how cool that scene was? That, my friends, is the power of color.

Abstract concepts seem easier (for me) to grasp when associated with color and shape. I believe we do have some peri-conscious or subconscious association with them. Which is why things like the chakra system interest me, even though there isn't much scientific validity behind it.

I have always wondered if the color that I see is the same color that other people see. If this don't make any sense, I guess i am trying to say that maybe we have been programmed to see a certain hue and identify it as such, but that it would be a different to a different person. There is no way to know, though, because how would we ever know. If the color that I identify as red is what i would identify as blue to someone else, but they have been programmed to call that particular hue red also... I am giving up, am I crazy?

Deeper meaning of colors....there are many website which speak to this topic, and I have read them....Red means our roots, green represents love, .....per the Chakras studies. I have never really thought about what they mean to me. Colors...are like music...move..feed the spirit...could be an expression of our emotions...Colors have a vibration, they have wave particles...so, like radio waves, there must be some type of communication going on.

Colors effect mood and how you view something. Blue makes some sad, others calm, and even others happy. Green (my favorite color) has been pretty popular lately with the eco-friendly. Difference in skin color led to horrible racism, which unfortunately still exists in some places today. Red is fire, comforting warmth or burning havoc. White is blank, destruction or new opportunities. It's all how you look at it.
