Wow, great question. That's just a fun one to answer. I gotta put Visions of Johanna in there, "The ghosts of electricity howl in the bones of her face." It's Alright Ma(I'm Only Bleeding), "Money doesn't talk, it swears.", and "He not busy being born is busy dying." Tangled Up In Blue. I heard this song at three in the morning in a friend's basement when I was around 14. Didn't know who it was, but I was enthralled by every word and knew that I had to follow that thing, whatever it was. Desolation Row. All of it. Man, so many others. Long live Bob Dylan.

Mr. Tambourine man, and this bit especially: "Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind, Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves, The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach, Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow. Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves, Let me forget about today until tomorrow."

POSITIVELY 4th STREET http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54qhjlTNVn0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54qhjlTNVn0 You got a lotta nerve To say you are my friend When I was down You just stood there grinning You got a lotta nerve To say you gota helping hand to lend You just want to be on The side that's winning You say I let you down You know it's not like that If you're so hurt Why then don't you show it You say you lost your faith But that's not where it's at You had no faith to lose And you know it I know the reason That you talk behind my back I used to be among the crowd You're in with Do you take me for such a fool To think I'd make contact With the one who tries to hide What he don't know to begin with You see me on the street You always act surprised You say, "How are you?" "Good luck" But you don't mean it When you know as well as me You'd rather see me paralyzed Why don't you just come out once And scream it No, I do not feel that good When I see the heartbreaks you embrace If I was a master thief Perhaps I'd rob them And now I know you're dissatisfied With your position and your place Don't you understand It's not my problem I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is To see you

If you're a Dylan fan, you can't really have *a* favorite, can you? Here's something I used to sing by him, though. She was workin' in a topless place and I stopped in for a beer I just kept lookin' at the side of her face in the spotlight so clear. And later on when the crowd thinned out I was just about to do the same She was standin' there in back of my chair sayin' "Jimmy, don't I know your name?" I muttered somethin' underneath my breath, she studied the lines of my face I must admit I felt a little uneasy when she bent down to tie the laces of my shoes Tangled up in blue. She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe I thought you'd never say hello she said, you look like the silent type. She opened up a book of poems and handed it to me Written by an Italian poet from the thirteenth century And every one of them words rang true and glowed like burnin' coals Pourin' off of every page like it was written in my soul from me to you Tangled up in blue. "Tangled Up In Blue" from Blood On The Tracks

With so much great material to choose from, it's hard to pick. I'm going to go with... "Disillusioned words like bullets bark, as human guards aim for their mark, make everything from toys guns that spark, to flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark, it's easy to see without looking too far that not much is really sacred." -It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) Although really I want to pick that whole song plus a few others such as: Subterranean Homesick Blues, Ramona, Visions of Johanna, Love Minus Zero/No Limit, and It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry.
