I lose something every time EVERY TIME where do these things go? I suspect they are all together. The favorite yellow shirt, the makeup book, that thing my friend brought me from that place, all of the randome little things that go missing every time I move are hanging out somewhere with my lost socks.

I just moved two weeks ago and all last week I cried like a baby. It's scary for people like us who don't like change. I'm starting to adjust and adapt to my new surroundings a lot better each day. It just takes time to make a new place feel like home. Hang in there :)

I love moving with a capital "L" I don't like the physical part of it but I love the shedding and releasing ties with physical baggage, the fresh start, a re-booting of life and of perspective to keep me in touch with Me. All the new strangers I encounter remind me of who I am at the core. I find it a wonderful spiritual and humbling exercise. I find meditation in the mundane aspects of it. Another kitchen to clean and drawers and cabinets to line, cutting the sticky paper as perfect as possible with my exacto knife. It's like that old saying, "where ever I go, there I am" ...and here I am once again cleaning a strange kitchen to make it my own, lining the drawers and cabinets. It doesn't matter if I'm here a week or 10 years. In this moment, this kitchen is mine and I will make it the best it can be while thinking of all the wonderful possiblities that can happen in that kitchen. And THAT makes me happy.

Tonight is my first "official" night in the new place, all ties with the old place gone. I am eager to discover my new neighborhod and get settled in here, in beautiful Topanga...settled as much as a gypsy can be!

i hate packing and unpacking. but i like moving to new places. it helps keep my mind moving, and being a freelance graphic designer, new environments become creative sparks. i went from the big city to the desert, a change i didnt think i was gonna be fond of, but to be honest, i have grown quite fond of the quiet nights and calm days, and i love the cool breezes. i do miss Los Angeles, and that is always where my heart will hand.

I've been living in this apartment, with this people, in this other country for a week and a half and couldn't feel anymore out of place.

At least you know there's others going through the same crap.

I hate moving more than anything, but occasionally it is a necessary evil. Of course it's unsettling at first (by definition) but if you manage to move to the perfect place, you'll be able to settle right back into a new home.

I did at first, but I've moved so much in the last seven years that I'm not usually affected by it. I enjoy the unpacking and setting up process and getting to know the new house/apartment/neighborhood.

I also do not like change. I lived in california and moved from Woodland Hills to Apple Valley. Im still in California but minus well be different worlds. I went from being 20 minutes away from Downtown Los Angeles, Busses running everywhere every 10-15 minutes malls in every other city, To Apple Valley where theres Rabbits living under our back porch coyotes and foxes running around at night and where quail perch on our fence. Instead of seeing a skyscraper i see open desert bus stops are now rabbit holes and fox dens. Ive been here for a month now and everyday i feel... in a way alone. ive made a rabbit trap (box trap) something i wouldnt have a need for in Los Angeles. I find myself walking the open desert wielding a Daisy spring action rifle with a ziploc bag full of BB's. I spend hours outside under the sun looking for rabbits lizards quails chipmunks and squirrels anything that i can shoot and possibly eat not for survival but so i can find some excitement in this desert.
