Thats a very general assumption. Being young i can tell you that what kids like can go both ways. Its just that older music isnt marketed so heavily because its already been popular for some time. Plus the lyrics and style of new music just seem more relevant to the present day and age.

I don't really believe this. I know a lot of kids who thoroughly enjoy the older stuff. I personally love current music and music from the past. We all just have different tastes.

Haha I actually love old stuff. I mean, I love new stuff, too, but given the choice between Ke$ha and Motown, I would probably choose the latter.

I don't blame rap, cause rap was awesome when it first came out, like the Beastie Boys...

I just think the idiots who represent "younger audiences" haven't a clue what REAL music is.

Not true. I like some older stuff, and my 14 year old sister ONLY listens to classic rock, and every hipster I know says their favorite band is The Beatles.

It's not current for most of todays youth, therefore it's not entertaining. I like some of that era, but the majority of it sucks and I'm 33, far from young.

I'm not saying there isnt good music from the 70's and 80's, just not enough to make me load up my ipod with it. I much prefer 90's alternative rock and some hip hop from the last 15 years.

Really? Dunno, for me it's been the opposite. Kids are getting into the 70's and 80's stuff. I honestly don't think I've heard a teenager dis the older stuff.
