I don't think there is a God, but if there is, I would agree with your post 100%. I don't think God would have ever created a religion (or faith) - seems insignificant. And if God were to judge us, it would be on everthing he have done, our thoughts, deeds, and contributions, not based on what statue we worshiped or churched we prayed at.

I think you're right and the concept of religion as we think about it is man-made, significant to humans but not to God. My other thought is that there is only one "religion" interpreted and practiced differently by multiple groups of like-minded people, leading us to believe there's more than one.

My personal belief is that all God cares about is communion with His creation. Including that one aspect of it He gave a degree of free-will and self-determination to.

Personally, I don't think He cares for religion at all. Was it not His alleged Son who shredded the temple and visited woes upon the religious leaders?
I think God craves relationship with us. And this doesn't happen through the trappings of religion but through faith in the process He's provided. A process we were unable to accomplish on our own through works, religion, ritual, observance or ceremony.

ALL the great religions are legitimate and God-sent, and indeed are progressive steps in a single ever-evolving faith, the Faith of God!

I don't think God does prefer any one religion. But that it's people who decide there's something going on around us, let's be a part of it. So, they create this system of worshiping this "something". After that moment, it's just a power struggle between the people. At least, this is what I think.

As a Baha'i, I consider all religions to be progressive. They've come from the same Source (God), but at different times and in different places according to what God decided was needed in those times and places to advance civilization and prepare mankind for the eventual (and inevitable) time when we would recognize that we're all in this together. His most current religion, the Baha'i faith, was given to mankind to help us pass through the adolescence of our species and into our maturity, without destroying ourselves. The teachings of Baha'u'llah direct us to use spiritual solutions to solve even the most challenging problems we face. Every religion points to a time of peace, God's kingdom on earth. Baha'u'llah has given us the teachings to usher in that time.

I know two things God is God, and I am not God. Whatever He decides to do is fine by me, if all religions end up being in heaven, you think I'm really gonna b*tch?
