Well if we're speaking chronologically, then it is logical to believe that there must have been a start, or else why is anything happening at all? Its amazing to me also how atoms are comprised of totally opposite equal charges and a neutral substance, and the only thing keeping them apart is some sort of force. It's like we're barely existing.

I think there IS some fundamental level or irreducibility: whether it be particles, strings, or some other structure or thing. An infinite regress doesn't make any sense, in my opinion. There must be the basis for everything, otherwise nothing would exist, yeah? There'd be nothing for our top levels of reality to cling to or spring from.
