SP fills voids and I regard you all as friends. If I didn't have SP I'd be watching stupid sit-coms on tv, or listening to an endless string of Enya songs, or I'd be in bed by now listening to Coast-to-Coast on KFI radio and going to sleep to it. It makes me dream of UFOs in the sky, a bigfoot in my yard, and a ghost in my attic. It's 2:48am and I'm still on SP. I love you SPers.

I like this place, I don't get on much anymore, but I think it has worth, as long as you don't waste time in the mire. That said, hullo! how are you my British friend, I have been watching Outnumbered, which I think is a lovely little show, I love all the British insults (tossers, wankers, pillocks) I can't wait to come visit the GB, I was also wondering what the difference is between an English chip and an American french fry, are they just thicker? I had one here in the states that looked battered, it was good, but I am still confused.

I was an early adopter and left for four months but felt connected to the community for several reasons.
1) I was very happy with the general discourse and snappy patter.
2) I felt that SP allowed me a forum to introduce non-traditional ideas
3) I felt that the SP community allowed for numerous points of view and only asked for intelligent ideas and a moderately open mind.
Remember, as the folks say, "It takes a Village, People"

*tears in my eyes after reading all of the posts* I just love you guys! I have never been on an online forum where a true community could be formed like this one. Never have I laughed or cried so much about people that I have never "met" in real life. This has been a place that has stimulated my mind (and sometimes turned me on) more than anywhere else. It is a pleasure and an honor to "know" many of you.

I am very sad when someone leaves this site, I still see their "faces" and hear their "voices" after they are gone. I find myself wondering how they are and how life is faring for them. It is good to see the new faces and hear their voices mixed with others debating heated topics, contemplating heavy issues, or just playing around and goofing off. @Pattercake @trandscend @BootVencenta Welcome to the site, and don't be shy about participating. I'd love to hear more of what you are thinking and what you have to say. I will "see" you around. *offering you each a cookie* :-)

No matter what's going on in my life, I always have to check in each day to see what's what. I think of many of you as friends, even though we don't really know each other.
I've never been on any other online forum, so I will consider myself blessed that this is my first and only experience. It sure is a good one. And I think I've learned a great deal from "talking" with so many of you.
Love you long time...

I am a true newbie (only 4 days old :) to this forum, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the thought-provoking discourse going on here. Though I am more of an observer than a poster in the few forums that I frequent, I have felt compelled to say something or share something here nearly every day since I have joined. I appreciate the diverse opinions here and have observed many a conversation that ended simply: agree to disagree. This place is just damn good brain food. 'Nuff respect to all of you...

Community is the correct word. Nothing else like it. I'd miss it terribly if it were gone.

Sometimes I feel like I have a deeper connection with people on line then out there in the world. I think its because when I write I can stop and think about what I want to say so that what I say sounds poignant, or perhaps funnier then it would have been had it been on the fly. I like that on line I get to say things that before most people didn't care about. I talk about happiness and the meaning of life, a topic that I have discussed most of my life, on line. People comment, they argue they let their opinions be known, often without fear, there are good sides to that and bad.

Most of life is superficial, we smile and nod and pass by never really connecting. At least when I get a chance to type out a few words, I can go deeper, perhaps touch the souls of the other superficial people out there longing to have their souls set on fire.

Definitely worth. I'm not terribly "involved" here, but I always look forward to when I can come by. The level of discourse is pretty high here, as is the level of respect. That's pretty rare online or that other place.

other than a few F**Koffs down below, SP has been a really wonderful thing for me. I know some people through email now, and we've done "other things" on the net together. I think about all the 'vets' on here, the ones that have been on with me the longest.
