I think that Fox News would be harmless if every single viewer knew how reactionary and biased they can be. Like, I'm a liberal, and when I watch some MSNBC programming, even I have to roll my eyes. Keith Olberman and the guys on Ed Show and Hardball? They're very anger-fueled, on occasion to the point of unprofessionalism. The only person on that network who I can stomach for more than five seconds is Rachel Maddow, whose program is a pretty awesome balance of opinion, fact and goofiness.

But no matter how nuts political commentary on liberal stations can get, I have found nothing as bad as Glenn Beck. Seriously. Nothing. My best friend and I occasionally watch it together, just for laughs. The first time we tuned in, he was flipping out about something REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT. We thought we must've caught a special program. A few weeks later, we were bored at 5 PM and turned it on again. He was still ranting about something REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT. By episode three, we were totally envious of the people who believe that bullshit. Conspiracies are exciting, and Glenn Beck feeds them a daily serving of it, complete with righteous indignation and a side of manic anger. He'll jump from cupcakes to progressive to "Look at this line on my chalkboard! It means THINGS!!! BAD THINGS!!!"
We crack up throughout the program...but at the end of the hour, I remember that millions of Americans, such as my neighbor friend's mom, have Fox on the TVs in their kitchens as they get dinner ready. They watch casually. They aren't going to go online and fact-check and read different opinions. Many won't even listen with a grain of salt. Because it's a news network. And news networks can't lie, right?

Why do people complain about the bias on FOX, but then turn around and say they respect CNN, MSNBC, Huffington Post and all the other news networks that are also biased?....just in the other direction. As a conservative, I at least admit FOX is biased. But that's what I prefer because I have that world view. If you're liberal at least admit that your news outlets that you prefer according to your world view is biased as well. People watch or tune into the news that they prefer.

If you truly want news from many perspectives, in order to get a balanced view, you should look at all forms of media...including FOX. All the Obama lovers should know this since he just said as much in a recent speech.

If you ask me Fox is pure poison. Name one other network that has a devote racist like Glenn Beck on it. As for where I get my news from I tend to keep my TV on MSNBC and CNN. I really like the Rachel Maddow show and the Ed Show as I feel they do a great job of telling it like it is and not putting too much spin on things.

I don't watch it a lot due to time but I like certain hosts, some I trust like Tom Sullivan, I like O'Rielly and the way he asks tough questions. Even Beck can make me think, I certainly don't just think everything is false information simply cause it's FOX. If it pisses some people off, eh' it just means it's not catering to the liberal powers that be. I can respect that.

All Fox, Cnn, Msnbc to me are all biased and all have either conservative or liberal agendas. To me none of it is news they dont even report the truth. Journalism is a dying for of media. You dont have to be good at Journalism itself just lying. Note* not all forms of journalism are dying. not offense to journalist or journalism majors.

Fox News is not news its a Propaganda machine for the right wing , That's why fox spends all there money on shows that cater to the uneducated masses , They know that once they got them hooked with the Simpson's or family guy or whatever, They can then slip there right wing messages in between shows .

News is propaganda. If we are getting it from only one source, or only sources we like, then we aren't getting it. I think we've progressed passed the point where a show can sidestep journalistic responsibility with a simple disclaimer that it is for entertainment.

And sure, though I personally believe that much of what is shown on Fox is vile, irresponsible, and maliciously negligent -- so much so that its an outrage, I'm not sure what to make of the Daily show. Clearly it is for comedic purposes, but since Jon Stewart took the helm, he and his writers have made a powerful presence in the news media.
