I wouldn't say I believe, so much as hope, feel, and think that there is life elsewhere in the universe.

That is to say, complex life, since I believe we have already established the existence of alien single-celled organisms.

I really really hope there is life other than this planet. It would be foolish for me not to, considering our very small understanding of existence.

I think that there's life out there (probably at least some of it has human-like intelligence) simply for the fact that the Universe is so huge.

I would have a very hard time believing there isn't intelligent life out there. I agree that will more than likely never see them because of the mere size of space. In terms of the Bible, I don't believe ever says one way or the other. A lot of the passages about the world/universe is poetry that was inspired, not written, by God and at that time we believed everything revolved around us. The size of the universe didn't seem to be seriously considered until much later, which would explain the lack of passage in the Bible regarding this.

I also believe that there has to be some sort of "life" on other planets. I think each planet, galaxy, etc. carry their own types of life; each one is different. Will we ever effectively communicate or communicate with them at all? Probably not. Maybe James Cameron has a solution for this.
