There are so many plays out there that I don't think I could define a "favorite", but I am particularly fond of most of Shakespeare's plays, particularly the history plays. I especially like the Scottish play. Never had much fondness for Beckett or any of the absurdists, though I do find them occasionally interesting to watch. Hate Genet and Arteu.

I also like most everything by April DeAngles and Susan Glaspell.

I have so many plays that I love in production or just reading it would be really hard to name just one. Hell, it's hard to name just a few. And even though I was told I was an idiot yesterday, here are some of mine:

The Bacchae-Euripides;Tartuffe-Moliere; Hamlet-Shakespeare;An Enemy of the People-Ibsen;Long Days Journey Into Night-O'Neill; Summer and Smoke-Williams (anything by Williams or Inge really);West Side Story; Gypsy;Beauty Leenane-Martin McDonagh;Amadeus-s******r and dozens more.
I don't have any of the absurdists on my list because, well, I just don't like them. I like less arcane characters and plots. But Godot is a favorite of a lot of people I know.

My favorite play by far is Our Town. Such brilliant, yet simple writing doesn't come around that often.
